Personal Information
Chaplain Ferry, commissioned into the Army chaplaincy
in 1987, he has served in both the US Army Reserve
(1987-89) and the Army National Guard (1989 to
present).
His civilian ministry
is with the New York State Department of Corrections
as a Protestant Chaplain. He began at Marcy Correctional
Facility in April of 1999 and transferred in April
of 2004 to the Auburn Correctional Facility.
Chaplain Ferry married his wife Theresa in 1968.
They have two adult children. Mark is pastor of
West Genesee Hills Baptist Church [www.growingplace.org]
in Camillus. Mark and Heather have two sons: Corban
and Christian. Julaine is an interpreter for the
deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Dr. Ferry is a graduate of Cornerstone College,
Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary, Dallas
Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity
School (Doctor of Ministry).
Chaplain Ferry’s hobbies include photography,
hunting, handguns, and Hondas (motorcycles and

Current Assignment
Chaplain Ferry is actually assigned to the 3rd
Brigade of the 42nd Infantry Division in Buffalo.
However for this deployment the 42nd ID “cross-leveled”
him into the Aviation Brigade from Long Island.
The 42nd ID has responsibility for the north-west
sector of Iraq. Chaplain Ferry is located near
Tikrit at Camp Speicher.

Chaplain Ferry has immediate ministry with Headquarters
of the Aviation Brigade and oversight of four
battalion Unit Ministry Teams (chaplain and assistant).

As senior chaplain on Camp Speicher, Chaplain
Ferry has administrative responsibility for the
chapel and Unit Ministry Teams assigned there.
He will coordinate the services and ministry opportunities,
i.e., Bible Studies, seminars, films, fellowships,
and counseling.
